In this review article, in addition to the physical review, user reviews from different countries have been scored and added to the noise/visor sections to provide general information. Blue text contains referral links and clicking on these links will open a new tab.
Japan helmet manufacturer Arai, produced the Corsair-X model from composite fibre material. In some countries, Corsair-X is known as RX-7V.
The pinlock insert lens comes with the Arai Corsair-X. The visor can be removed without any tools.
If we generalize the reviews of Arai Corsair-X users, we can give 18.3/20 points to the angle(wide+vertical) of the visor. Wide field of view may be similar in most of the helmets but vertical field of view is rarely similar. Therefore, vertical field of view should be considered as this is an important element. The vertical viewing angle must be above the standard so that you can see clearly in front of you in the tuck position. On the Arai Corsair-X, the vertical viewing angle is above standard.
Vertical viewing angle was given 7.5/7.5 points by COAU.
If you want to use a sun visor on Arai Corsair-X, you can. It will be enough to buy and install the sunshade, which is sold with an extra fee. Pro shade technology allows this.
For ventilation there are one air ducts on the chin, two air ducts in the visor, three air ducts on the top and two air exits on the back.
The ventilation channel on the chin side can be opened/closed and can be adjusted gradually.
The two ventilation channels in the visor can be opened/closed separately.
The three ventilation channels on the top front can be opened/closed separately and can be adjusted gradually.
The two ventilation channels on the back can be opened/closed separately and can be adjusted gradually.
The ventilation structure of the helmet was given 6.9/17.5 points and its aerodynamic structure was given 6.4/10 points by COAU.
If we generalize the reviews of Arai Signet-X users, we can give 16.7/20 rating to the noise. You should not be surprised with different reviews. The reason for this is all of us have different levels of hearing, riding styles, motorcycle types and motorcycles that offers different levels of wind protection and riding at different speeds.
The wind tunnel test at 60 mph (100 km/h) which has been done by COAU the sound level in helmet is 95.1 dBA and got a 14.9/20 points. If noise level is an important criteria for helmet selection, we recommend taking dB levels of COAU as reference and see also: quietest motorcycle helmets
Arai Signet-X has been designed for Intermediate Oval head shape and produced with five different shell size.
Arai Corsair-X has emergency kit, breath deflector, glasses grove, speaker pockets, chin curtain, removable and washable inner pads. Top pad and cheek pads are soft. The quality of the inner pads is noticeably lower than its competitors.
There is an extra adjustable chin pad under the chin pad and the peel away system, which is Arai’s technology, on the inner pads of the helmet. As you can see in the peel away video, each cheek pad can be expanded by 5 mm and the peel away technology can be used in the head lining (not in the video you watched). Logically, it is used in the same way.

|Origin Specifies the country that the product belongs.||Japan|
|Material Specifies the material type of the helmet.||Composite Fibre|
|Weight Specifies the weight of the helmet. Even though a weight of 100 grams seems light, it creates a serious load coefficient, when factors like wind coefficient are added to this weight.||3.58 lbs (1.62 kg)|
|Sharp Rating Sharp is a company that was founded in 2007, which is controlled by the British Government and puts helmets through durability tests. They have always raised question marks as some models of upper class brands were given low ratings. Nonetheless, they are an independent institution that rates helmets by testing them all in the same way.||5 Star|
|Snell Certification Snell is a non-profit organization that was built in USA in the year of 1957. Snell tests are truly vigorous and challenging. Some models of the brands like Arai, Bell, Shoei, Hjc have passed this test. The number of helmets that could pass this test is limited. Snell standards are renewed in every 5 years.|

|Noise Inside The helmet's ability to reduce noise, to minimise the wind resistance and to encourage ventilation inside the helmet was assessed in a wind tunnel at a simulated riding speed of 100 km/h. The helmet was fitted on a mannequin designed for acoustic measurement. The mannequin was equipped with a specially designed microphone placed inside one of the mannequin's pinnas (ears). The wind resistance was measured using the force plate which is part of the wind tunnel and the ventilation was measured by measuring the pressure drop on the face and crown areas of the mannequin.||95.1 dBA / 60 mph|
|Ventilation||6.9 / 17.5|
|Aerodynamics||6.4 / 17.5|
|Vertical Field of View||7.5 / 7.5|
